A collision on the morning of Friday, September 6, left a motorcycle driver dead as a result of his injuries.  According to the police, the collision occurred around 6:02 A.M. in Howard County, on State Road 22 & 700 East involving two vehicles and a motorcycle.  The Howard County Sheriff’s Office believes that the driver of a Chevrolet Astro Van heading eastbound on State Road 22 crossed the center line struck a Dodge Dart heading westbound head-on.  The Dart spun 180 degrees and faced the opposite direction of travel.  Traveling behind the Dart was a Harley Davidson Motorcycle, which was struck by the Dart, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist.  The drivers of the Astro Van and the Dart were taken to Howard Regional Health.  The police stated the investigation is being treated as an OWI (Operating While Intoxicated), a legal charge for drunk driving after a subsequent investigation showed that the driver of the Astro Van was intoxicated at the time of the collision.  The collision is still under investigation by the police.

Sometimes it is not a reckless driver that can cause the most damage to property and other drivers on the road.  It just takes one vehicle, after being struck, to cause severe damage as it ricochets through traffic.  If you or someone you know has been injured or killed by the negligence of a driver who struck another vehicle into you or someone you know, please contact the experienced legal team at Schiller Law Offices at 888-578-3100 or at IndyInjured.com to learn more about your potential right to compensation.
