On Saturday, April 4, 2020, a collision in LaPorte county that involved multiple vehicles caused the death of one motorist.  The collision occurred in the 1400 block of Highway 6, in Union Township.  A man from Knox, Indiana had crossed the center line while traveling eastbound on Highway 6, striking a truck that was heading westbound.  Another vehicle then crashed into a utility pole after it swerved out of the way in order to avoid the collision.  A motorcyclist, with a passenger on board, slid and flipped over as a result of the collision, ejecting the driver and the passenger.  The passenger of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at an area hospital as a result of the injuries from the collision.  The driver that caused the collision was taken into custody and booked in the La Porte County Jail and has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and reckless homicide.

On narrow roads, a minor collision can bring traffic to a halt until all vehicles involved are moved.  Even on larger roads, a minor collision can lead to more collisions by forcing other drivers to drive recklessly in order to avoid the collision in front of them.  If you or someone you know has been injured or killed by the negligence of another motorist, please contact the experienced legal team at Schiller Law Offices at 888-578-3100 or at IndyInjured.com to learn more about your potential right to compensation.
