On Sunday morning, February 16th I-70 was shut down for two hours following a car accident that resulted in a fatality. The accident occurred just southwest of Indianapolis in Putnam County. According to Putman County officials, the vehicle flipped over and the only occupant was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries. No other parties were determined to be involved at this time.

The accident caused traffic to be backed up on both directions of the interstate and alternative routes were needed to be taken.  The west bound was directed to State Route 39. The cause of the accident and the tragic death of the driver is still undetermined,  though officials report extreme icy road conditions along the interstate. From all of us at Schiller Law Offices, please be careful on the roads and if you are injured in an auto accident, please contact our office for help.
