Construction zones can be hazardous places for drivers, especially when fellow motorists do not always operate their vehicles with the caution that they should.
Three people were sent to area hospitals following a two car crash in an interstate construction zone early Monday.
Indiana State Police received the call shortly after 3 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2013.
Investigators say it was a rear end accident involving two passenger cars on the city’s south side.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-65 in the construction zone, just south of I-465, between Thompson Road and Edgewood Avenue.
Medics transported three patients with what was reported to be non-life threatening injuries. The interstate was closed for a period of time, but has since reopened.
